I picked up a set of the swim platform (removable type) brackets from Ron a few weeks back and got them mounted along with the platform itself today!
For anyone who is thinking about doing this, Ill tell you what I did. It might save you some time and hassle. (Or possibly not). The holes on the part that bolts to the transom did not line up with existing holes in the boat. I was going to fill the holes in the boat and drill some new ones, but that just didnt seem right to me. The last thing I want to do is drill holes in my boat that were not there in the first place. (It really worried me because the holes were overlapping each other and I thought that wouldnt be very sturdy and I might break out the patch work.
So long story short, I had the bracket holes welded full, grinded them smooth, plotted and drilled new holes in the brackets themselves so they matched the boat.
I feel much better about doing it this way. Now that they are mounted and everything lines up, I am going to blast them and powdercoat them. (Lucky me I have a small coating buisness..... so......) It was a 1 afternoon job, and I dont have a worry in the world about the transom!
