The 88 Advance I rescued from Florida Runs!! Over the past 3 weeks my Son David has been schooled on Advance restoration. The really good news is that I can use this boat to help others with their questions, now if I can figure out how to transfer pics form my camera to the site would really help.
Major trailer restoration Complete: Took it down to a welded chassis with no hardware, prepped & painted w/ BMW black metalic urethane
New Brakes, ss lines, actuator, new winch, new wheels/tires, new bunk boards & carpet, new running boards & carpet, new LED lights, new wiring. Best of all was the all new American Skier 2012 welded side guides that will absolutely prevent my son from putting the boat on top of the fender. (week 1 & 2)
Week 3 was spent prepping the boat, remove the fuel tank, tighten swim platform brackets, check alignment, was off by 3/4" this became a 6 hour alignment, new blower hoses, fuel hose, fabricated a choke linkage that was missing, replace bilge pump & float switch, replace starter motor, change oils & filters, replace a couple faulty switches, replace horn, machine compound hull & deck (r & r the windshield for this) Clean the upholstery, test run at the shop.
July 4th Test run; Trailer worked great, boat has a couple leaks to track down, & will need a carb kit. overall it ran really good, only took one page of notes to work on, David skiing after we cleared the gators from the river, ( one was really pesky & didn't want to move) (BTW if anyone doubts the authenticity of the goofy TV show "The Swamp People" just come down & ski with us, even with holiday traffic we saw 4 gator lines along the Tickfaw river were taught)
