Soap, ammonia, water for teak platform

I have heard good reviews on using a mixture of soap, ammonia, and water to clean the teak platform.  Can it discolor or harm the rubrail or gelcoat?  The AS Pro and TBX have the attached, hinged platforms that would require removing a boatload of screws to remove.

Hmmmm...  never heard of that combination before for teak cleaning.  Probably have to ask Ron or Dan.

One thing is for sure - DONT mix bleach, or any cleaner containing Chlorine, with any cleaner containing Ammonia - the results can KILL you...   although your platform might look pretty good...

Never used that combo.  I have had good luck using a bleach and water solution with a scrub brush, rinsing with soap and water.  After letting dry completely, sand lightly and teak oil away.

So far so good.   Using soap, ammonia, and mostly water with a green Scotch scrubber going opposite the grain.  Looks very clean but it needs to try and there is no sun in the forecast until Thursday.
