Found replacement floor... :(

I noticed a small bit of carpet coming up at the front of the motor box near the ski pylon...  When I pulled it up I noticed the floor seemed to be covered by a nice & thick piece of what appears to be marine plywood that may be covered in resin...  NOW I know why the previous owner cut the "L" seat off the floor & replaced it...  And, I'm left wondering if I should take up all the carpet (its glued down) to see just what was done or NOT done...  The floor seems solid, so I'm hesitant to mess with it... and "ignorance is bliss"...  EXCEPT when it comes to boats 

Any comments, suggestions, ideas, recommendations, "Holy Crap Stories", etc, would be greatly appreciated.

Note to file:  I am far from an expert with FRP resins, etc, and am hesitant to start learning how now...

Joel--am in the middle of SAME project right now--thought floor was "a little soft" and when yanked carpet found someone had replaced it at some point with PT plywood then resined very poorly over it leading to worse rot than prior probably.  So I pulled all the carpet, then cut out all flooring----which led to what you referenced--cutting the passenger "L-seat" along factory seam and removing it since carpet and floor are under it, screwed to it, AND the battery recessed box extends THRU it.  While having done all that I decided to go ahead and pull motor and scrape out flotation foam (which I don't believe was ever expanded correctly from the factory installation as the stringer cavities were only about half full and it only reached about 2/3's the way to the driver seat).   SO then I will re-inforce the motor mounts with stainless plates on the back side and new exhaust hoses, paint motor and replace all the "wear" parts on it--belts/hoses/ignition/coil/etc....reinstall, put in new floor, reglass seat back in, re-carpet and pray its all done by Memorial day..........okay like I said, pray....good-luck,  stay in touch and don't be afraid to look under the carpet---although if its not THAT bad soft feeling all over--I would run it this summer and make it a winter project----just dont take 2 winters to do it like I have.....

I concur, if no soft spots are felt, have fun during the summer thats why we built it, then check it out ove the off season.
NOTE  NEVER use lumber yard grade PT woods in boat construction.

Sounds like the "Winter Project" recommendation wins the grand prize...  The floor is solid, but whats underneath it concerns me...  Maybe start in late Sept when the weather isnt toooo bad yet...
