How much would it go for???

I am just asking a how much would a "1980" American skier sell for???  Ok just a little on the boat it run's great, New raw water pump, boat cover,rear seat and an extra one to go with it and gel-coat is in good shape.  It also has a trailer that matches the boat. Here's a listing I came across, add has since been taken down. I'd guess you're anywhere between 4k and 6k depending on the shape of the boat and hours (recent rebuilds?)

That sounds about right...  My 1991 High Retail was between $6500 & $7000.  It was in near perfect condition inside & out.  A 1980 would be significantly less unless it is a rare find, collectable, etc... which it may very well be...    Hell, its 30 years old and looks to be in great condition - I'd keep it just for the sheer pleasure of motoring around in a classic boat

How can anyone have a 30 year old boat with only 200 hrs? Makes me wonder why someone got into it in the first place. Or why they never sold it sooner? But one never knows...

Thanks guys, I didnt think I was asking to much for my Yellow AMS.  I am tore if I want to sell it or keep it. I do have it posted on Craigslist for $3600.oo.  The only reason I am selling it is I'm restoring another ski boat right now for me to run 2 ski boats is verry costly. $3600 sounds more than fair to me, if the boats in good "lake ready" condition I'd say just give it time. Don't think it helps having snow all the way down to Florida right now, boats aren't big sellers this time of year, especially during a country wide blizzard! I'd hang on to it until that first day of nice spring weather, throw a for sale sign on it for 4k and see what happens.

Hi Phill,  It is my "80" Yellow American Skier I have it up for sale.





Keehr22,  I have a couple guy's verry intrested in the boat and calling and emailing me about it. I am ok with selling it for $3600.oo if they show me the cash lol. If it dosen't sell now I will wait untill spring and throw a for sale sighn on it for $4500.oo  and see what happens.

Phil, Sorry I was not paying attention to your question. (smack me in the back of the head) lol.. 

  I am restoring a 1980 Mastercraft LTD Limited. It is beer bottle brown flake with gold flake. I just rebuilt the motor the transmison looks great. I am having a new shaft made and coupler. Next Tim Creaton from OJPROPS is making me some upgrade part's for the boat. I have pic's of what I am doing or you can go to TEAM TALK MASTERCRAFT and look up LTD restoration and see pics there and progress.

Jim, checked out your restoration, quite the project! Looks like fun though. Wish I had the winter to work on mine, instead I'm stuck paying a shop to do the work in my absence, just not as rewarding as the DIY projects. Even though they sometimes cost just as much after hard lesson's learned, it's still worth the experience taken away! Good luck with it.

Thanks Keehr22,  I am one of the lucky one's I own my own body shop so I can do all my  work in house work. I am sure I couldn't have the boat redone if I where to have a shop do all the work for me do to cost. It has been alot of fun and meeting new people that are into helping out and Knowing from there mistakes what to do and to make it right.  I couldn't agree more with you about taking the experience with me along the way. If you like keep up on the progress from time to time and see how it is coimming along.

Well here is the good news about my AMS.  I have been talking with my wife about selling the boat to fund my Mastercraft project. We decied to keep it and not sell it as she say's "It is a great running Boat". So I have sided with her to keep it and restore the AMS when I am done with my other boat. I am pleased that she is with me on this it makes me happy but most of all keeping her happy as well.

We decied to keep it and not sell it as she say's "It is a great running Boat". So I have sided with her to keep it and restore the AMS when I am done with my other boat. I am pleased that she is with me on this it makes me happy but most of all keeping her happy as well.
