Looking for new Trailer
« on: February 04, 2010, 10:42:56 PM »
Located in Sturgis, MI, anyone within a couple hundred miles have an unused trailer they are willing to part with? Mine is in rough shape, previous owner's did a good job of flushing the boat after salt water use, but the trailer, not so much.

What's up with your trailer (the blue one) that's in the other post? The one where you show the buffing of the gel coat and rub rail? The picture isn't that clear but the paint on the trailer appears to be good.

I have a 85 advance trailer, needs some work.  If it fits your boat and you want it new I may be able to arrange having it redone if the price is right.  My trailer is in good shape as far as structure, it just needs bunks, fenders, lights, and tires.  I will see what it will cost to make "new".  I could also arrange pickup of trailer near Kalamazoo, my grandparents live near there.  Let me know if you are interested.  (I think the advance and your boat are the same hull)

Phil, that picture isn't a good indicator of the whole trailer. A lot of rust issues beyond the tongue there, fenders are rusted through and the trailer jack is about to fall off. It's also got those inertia brakes, which no longer function leaving the tongue 'clunking' whenever I stop and go. I definitely think mine is fixable, but I don't think its as cost efficient as just finding a good used one, by the time I factor in sand blasting, sheet metal repair, and paint.

Brandon, sounds good, you have any pics of the trailer?
