Hello

My name is Arne, 24 years old and I live in Belgium (Europe).
I own a 1978 American Skier.
I want to appologize in advance for my bad english writing.

This boat is in the family for 35 years.
My grand dad bought the boat in the Netherlands.
When he passed away, my father and is two brothers took over the maintenance.

When I bought the boat 2 years ago, it was in really bad condition.
The floor was rotten and the paint was vague.

The engine is in OK condition.
I replaced the voltage regulator and the ignition cap.
The only problem with the engine is that when it doesn't run for a while, it takes a very long time to start it.
I think there is then moisture in de carburator.

The paint below the waterline is the Cruiser eco antifouling from International (yachtpaint.com)
It's an eroding paint. I had to paint two layers and I have to repeat it every two years.
So every two years I will be painting my underwaterline.

My AS still runs on gasoline. Its pretty expencive but it's totally worth it!
I live in Maaseik in Belgium. There is a small "lake" over here.

Tomorrow I will be cruising in my AS!

The dark material is a SOFTEX boat carpet.
It's resistant against water and doesn't mold.

awesome and it's inspiring me to move forward with my paint job! I have an 83 and we have had so much fun the past 3 years running it in Northern Wisconsin. I finally skied behind my own boat after dropping over 60lbs this past winter. Where did you get the graphics reproduced at?

The graphics were drawn in illustrator by a colleague of mine. I had some examples of the logo and the letters.
When they were drawn, I went to a guy who could produce some stickers. total cost was €200.

One question...  Are the exhaust flanges cooper?  It doesn't appear to be stainless steel like most of the AS Classics.  It gives it the classic touch of the old wooden boats from Chris Craft and Century.  Very nice.

I like it very much!
But I don't think its copper.
More lika a composition metal i guess.
