Fuel line 86 A/S 350

I was showing the new boat to my guy at the marina on Sunday and just getting his opinion on the engine. We are friends, so it was basically just dock conversation. Anyways, he informed me that the fuel lines aren't code since they are rubber? Need braided ones for fire safety reasons. This sound right?

My boat had it's engine rebuilt (long block swapped for a re-man) a while back and I think the previous owner added some other "upgrades". Edelbrock intake, ad some sort of Holley carburator. I'd say the Holley could be stock, except it says street performer on the top, lol. I wish it was all stock.

USCG approved fuel delivery hose is fine, I would recommend the newer  alcohol approved hose. Must have been a lot of beer in that dock conversation, missed the missing clamp, wrong style clamps, and non-Marine carb. Holly does make a nice steel line that connects both bowls with one connector to the fuel pump, makes it look a lot neater.

It was a brief conversation. He mentioned that I needed to do a deep inspection of everything for safety sake. All I have ever owned boat wise has been outboards...so I'm in a whole new world here. At lease I don't have to sync 6 carbs anymore! :)

Thanks Ron, I'll pick up one of those fancy steel lines when I order my marine Holley carb to replace my "street performer". I'm not a fan of fire in general, less so on a boat.

Any advice on a particular model? I'm not sure what originally came on it...350 Pleasurecraft is about all I know.

Also, thanks Dan. I'll be giving you a jingle for parts.

A holley 600 marine carb will only need the single inlet.
