Question

I just bought an 84 American skier and I have been doing some work on it and trying to figure some things out. What is the black knob with the fuse behind it that is just to the left of the horn button on the dash. What is that fuse for and where can I get another one?

Most of your switches are actually breaker/switches, push-button switches that are push for on, push again for off & if overloaded it will pop out even further. These are not available in momentary switches like a horn button or ignition switches with multiple positions. So where a breaker/switch is not available we used a panel mount fuse to supply the power to the switch. You are referring to the fuse for the horn switch circuit. I am stocking the breaker/switches & have some stand alone fuse holders.  Is your fuse holder corroded or do you just need a replacement fuse??

I replaced the fuse last night, but the horn still doesn't work. all of the other buttons work (nav lights, pump, ext.).

you'll need a test light or meter and follow the wiring could very well just be dirty fuse holder ends , bad switch, or bad connection - it may seem like a bitch but you can slide in under the dash with a meter or test light and a flashlight - it may take a helper to get you out but it can be done:)

Or it may be the horn itself, these are notorious for going out, as for squeezing in there I find it easier to remove the deck.

lol - I've had to pull Ron out b4 
then he resorted to removing the drivers seat and base
now he removes the deck
I can still fit and get out on my own

Another quick question... Is it possible to get a new foil capacity sticker for my 84 am skier? Thanks for all the help by the way. I was wedged under the dash for about 15 minutes testing switches! Thank goodness I am still young and flexible.

Ron had a stash of these that he was selling. Not sure if he has any left or not but I bet he does. If he doesnt see this you should call him at the shop, Im sure he will hook you right up.
