What did you do to the engine to get 285 hp?   Stock was rated around 250 hp with actual numbers around 240 hp.

Good luck on the sale  :)  And, yes posting pics helps.  Have you tried posting on SKIDIM as well?

I have not done anything to the engine.  Since it was new it has had a blue and white sticker on the plastic air cleaner cover that says 285h.p. and it might say indmar on it as well.  What is skidim?  I tried posting on the for sale section but was not able to, not sure if it was because I am on an iPad and not the desktop.

Sorry, what I meant to say was  Ski-It-Again.com   You can list it there as well - they focus primarily on Inboards & ski equipment...  Send Phil a message about how to post, but I think your right - the site doesnt like IPads, etc..

Wow!  Is it a barefoot skier?   Ron would know more about what HP options were available & when.  Still, post some pics when you can.  I'm sure everyone would like to see 'em...

93 most stock fords were 285 hp :)

Amskiers had several standard engines and engine option throughout the years

the late 70s - early 80s were mostly Ford 351 commanders @ 255 hp
early - mid 80's we saw standard engine was still the ford commander most 255hp
( strong 255) some optional engines were the 280+ commander ford 351 and PCM chevy @ 280ish
a few Hardin 290-300hps mid to late 80s we saw several Indmar engines from 351, 350 and 454
starting @ 260 hp and going up to 330 not including the one off customs
early 90s we saw Indmar picking it up again with our standard Ford from Indmar being 285hp carb
and a few early EFI from Mercruiser too in the mid late 90s under Ron
were the Marine Power 350 EFI "275" hp (which was really 310+) most being throttle body injection
with a few being multi port injection ( very very similar to Indmar Monsoon, but absolutely no relation )
just because the MCs and CCs of the day were using 240 hp PCMs doesn't mean we were.............

The spec sheet on my boat ('92 Legend) lists two Indmar/Ford 351 engines, the standard 351/250 HP and the optional 351/285 HP.  Does the serial number on the boat reveal which engine I have?  What do I look for?

Look at the front of the engine (picture of mine is below) - see those 3 raised lines on the end of the head (above the belt and left of the curly ignition wire in the picture)? That is the HO head. If there are two raised lines (or none) it is the standard 250hp.
