I need to make a public statement about decals, then any and all questions I get as far as private messages or emails will be directed to this thread.
Most of you know that I have been working for quite some time to reproduce the decals that go on my 86 Advance (BAREFOOT SKIER).
Those decals have been completed and I am in prep stages for installing them.
The problem i am having is I feel like I am being pinched. I am being asked almost constantly about the graphics and how to get them.
#1. I had BAREFOOT SKIER specific graphics produced. For the ADVANCE only, not for newer or older boats. I WILL NOT be making AMERICAN SKIER bubble graphics for hull side use so please stop asking.
#2. For the most part everything that goes on an ADVANCE that I have had made for my boat that is not BAREFOOT specific, Ron Tanis already stocks and sells. I will not make and or sell anything that he has in stock to sell out of respect for one and because it doesnt make since secondly. What he doesnt have or stock (you need to ask him for yourself) I believe he is in the process of reproducing or will be in the near future.
Please let me give you examples.
The ADVANCE SHIELD and word ADVANCE. Ron has these in stock and ready to go.
Transom wording (COMP SKI BOAT) Ron has in stock I believe...... again mine is barefoot specific anyway.
He also now has the passanger decals for the ADVANCE which I plan on buying soon myself
The only thing he doesnt have waiting to sell is the AMERICAN SKIER bubble script. I wont tell a lie to any of you. I did have this reproduced to put on my transom because that is what was there but only in the transom size NOT in the hull size. If I were to have it sized up to hull size (WHICH I WONT BE DOING) it would cost me well in the hundreds of dollars and I cant use them so Im not doing it.
Again, I mean no disrespect and I hope you all understand why I needed to post this. Ron and Dan are the go to guys as far as AMERICAN SKIER parts are concerned. If you are looking for graphics I would strongly suggest you email or call one of them as they can point you in the right direction, or you could always do what I did and take a tracing of whats on your boat and go have them made for yourself.
I hope I havent upset anyone and I hope you can understand why I have had to make this stand, (its not really a stand actually, I really dont have what you need in the first place). These guys make what we have here happen along with Phil or vise versa. With their free knowledge and all of the advice they give. I cannot step over that line. They have been to good to me.
