I wouldnt go there...  I'm French, Italian & Mississippi Redneck   ;)

I looked at the two websites (posted above) in Southern Indiana and they look pretty tempting.  The first looks EXPENSIVE, but may very well be worth it... and the FAMILY would love it!  The second looks like it would be more affordable - yeah, I'm a cheap SOB...  LOL!!!   Mid June should be great weather and the water should be "refreshing"...   ;)   Go ahead and twist my arm to have it in Indiana...  I'll volunteer to help with the organization, agenda, planning, etc...    8)

Not unless they have a gambling addiction.  Shopping is a non-issue.  You may be tempted to stay here for one night...

The location needs to be in a centralized location so people from all over may attend - we've got people in IN, OH, PA, NY, LA, FL, TN, KS, CA... the list goes on.  Although, there are a growing # of AM Skier owners in FL...  might be a good place for a local Fall/Winter meet  :)

Just took another look at the map, its actually pretty cool how the owners are really split up between the north and the south and it looks like fairly even numbers too! There hasnt been much more talk about the reunion / reunions next year, anyone have any thoughts?

Are we going to have 3 reunions? 1 north, 1 south, and one central for as many that can attend at different times? Are we going to try and split it where there is only 1 central reunion every other year? What about up a rotation of north and south every other year?

Just trying to get some brain waves moving on this thing. Depending on what is decided (if its up north next time for instance) I know for sure I will need all the time I can get to try and plan and save for it.

Possibly get 4 or 5 ideas and put them up to a vote? Just trying to not let this topic slide or die on us!

Maybe I missed something but does anyone have a link to the member map or whatever you call it?  I would like to find other boats close to home too.

Also, I am waiting untill the location is set before I get too excited.  I would love to meet everyone in person (especially Ron and Dan) and show off my beater of a boat.  I am willing to drive maybe 6-8 hours tops.  If KY Lake is home to the third reunion I WILL be there.  I would just rather run the fuel through my boat than my truck.  You nice folks are more than welcom to come out to Northeast Tennessee and hang around Boone Lake anytime.   We are up to six marinas (five with fuel) that all serve a good burger.  Lodging arangments are out only downfall.  Lodging is basicly limited to TVA camping on the water or driving five miles to Johnson City.

Mike,   Thanks for keeping the brain waves moving on this...

IMHO we need to keep the "official" AM Skier Reunion limited to one a year until it gets better established (it will only get bigger).  I like the idea of moving it to another location as KY lake is large & can be VERY ROUGH for a flat bottomed boat to negotiate.  Our kidneys will thank us   ;)   Also, Buchanans is a great locale, but they wont work with us on reduced prices for a large group, etc, so I have no qualms with finding a better deal at a better location.

When we were posting about the two locations in Indiana allot of people seemed very interested.  I looked at the two resorts' websites and gotta say they both look like a great fit - one kinda pricey & the second more moderately priced.  If one of these locations works for the majority I'd say lets make it official and start the planning.  I'll volunteer to help out with the event organizing, etc...  Its close enough for me to take a weekend and visit each location, get info, see if they have group rates, etc.   Like the first reunion, we need to keep it fun & informal (cause thats the way we roll) but adding a few things like a couple of 1 hour tech sessions covering common problems/fixes.  The unofficial / official awards ceremony & banquet looked like it was allot of fun as well  :)

Lets figure out WHERE we want to do this and lets make it happen!  Sooner will be MUCH-O better than later.

Quotes will be coming soon for the 2 sites in Indiana.  The Fourwinds on Lake Monroe is an excellent spot with slips, food, pool (indoor/outdoor) full service marina, 2 launch ramps that are 4 to 5 cars wide, and much more.  The hotel and bar are newly renovated and there is also a beach for people to swim.  The draw backs is that it can get busy on weekends and it's not cheap.
http://www.fourwindsresort.com/

There is a resort that is off the lake that is highly rated and cheaper.  Lake access is about a 1/2 walk and no ramps.  You would have to launch at Fairfax, which is down by the Fourwinds.  Some inconvenience, but might be worth saving the extra buck or two.

Lake Monroe is a good sized lake with not as much of the chop, but it tends to lend itself to the weekend warriors from Indy that bring down their day cruizers and cigarette boats.  There are good places to ski if you are an early bird or willing to wait until after 6 pm.  Lot's of protective coves to tie up and swim.

Most recently we had a new local talent by the name of Clayton Anderson that just recorded a video at the lake.  Take a look...

Thanks for taking the initiative and getting the info!  If we decide to have it at the Fourwinds at least we'll know how much $$ we'll need to save   :)  No decent place is going to be "cheap"...  I'll probably show up early or stay late so we can ski during the weekdays - place is probably half deserted...

Smitty,  Any info on availability / prices for these resorts?   Trying to keep the topic going so we can get a concensus & make a decision...  I know we've got a long way to go before SPRING, but alot of guys are gonna need to put in for vacation, leave, etc...  much less start saving up some cash  :)

Thanks again for checking this out!
