River Trip on the Amskier
« on: July 27, 2010, 08:58:54 AM »
Here's a few photo's from our trip down the Cumberland River here in TN. 200 miles round trip from Clarksville to Nashville, passed through 2 Locks and used about 60 gallons of gas. Lucked out with great weather and the boat had zero issues. Awesome trip!

That is cool, yeah, that will use up a lot of gas. Was the water calm your whole ride? Ever run into any shallow spots that you had to watch out for?

Yeah the gas was a bit excessive, we had to remove the rear seat and take a couple 5 gallon fuel cans with us to make the stretch between fill ups. Well worth the cost of gas though, really fun experience. There was a lot of debris at times, this was the river that flooded Nashville several months ago, so there's more than usual. Along the way we also saw docks hung up in trees (some with boats still attached). Depth wasn't an issue as long as you paid attention to the buoys, a lot of barges use the river so I wasn't to worried.

Amazing trip man!  That would be so much fun!  You guys out east should feel lucky you get to boat on calm water regularly.  Here in western Kansas your days are few and far between.
