Carb to Fuel Injection

Good morning! I have a 1991 Legend with an Indmar 351 H.O. that is currently using a Holly 4160 carb. I am tired of dealing with a carb and want fuel injection.

1) What is the best system for the price for that engine?

2) Who can do it?

With all the computer garbage (my opinion) involved,  I'd buy a brand new Holley and go on about my business. But that's me. I really don't know of any bolt on stand alone fuel injection units fore marine use, but I certainly don't know everything.

They are available, Holley makes some, there's a TBI injection system out there, look to spend $1500-2500. That said you a barking up a tall tree. I am servicing both carb. & TBI-EFI systems & both are calibrated for the specific engine, setting up an EFI takes alot of mapping in the ECM to get it to perform correctly. My sources tell me that the older american made Holleys are far superior to the currently available Holleys that seem to be more prone to failures from todays gasolines. My advice is to tune what you have, the biggest advantage in our ski boats to EFI is the cold start running, after that there's minimal advantages.

Tuning a Holley is simple and you can find specific directions on Google.  Do you have an electronic ingnition?  They take the place of the points & condenser, fit inside the distributor, a simple DIY job, and cost about $125 (theyre worth their weight in GOLD)  I say this because it MAY not be the carb your having issues with...  Good luck!!

i have done some research on this topic for my own boat

i have also talked to 2 engine that build high performance engines for racing and street rods. they suggested the . this is a throttle body system and bolts on just like a carb. no need for a computer or any programming. this is done with an onbord computer that programs it self as the boat is ran

IN DOING MY RESEACH FOR EFIS I LOOKED AT BOTH THE HOLLY AND THE EDELBROCK SYSTEMS BOTH  REQUIED A LAPTOP AND ALL THE ENGINE SPECS AND SOME MORE OTHER INFO SO I STOPPED THERE
