Hi guys. First off, I want to say thank you to whomever started this site. There isn't much information out there about these boats and to know that Mr. Tanis is an active and participating member on this forum is awesome.
Now to the meat...
I purchased an 86 American Skier Advance back in August of last year. I have never owned a boat. Been on the water many times, but always on someone else's craft, but since I have a family of my own I figured it was time to take the plunge. The plunge, I decided since I've never purchased a boat, was to the tune of $1,200 bucks for a running, all in one piece Advance. There are some blisters on the hull, a few small gelcoat cracks here and there, but the floor is solid and no major issues so far. The gelcoat is very dull and the dark gray stripe on the side is dull and chalky so I have decided to restore her. The interior is pretty much shot. There is no back seat at all though there was one there originally. No padding or panels down the inside side rails. Basically, I'm looking for as many photos or even upholstery info I can find. Also a need I think will become an issue this summer will be the trailer. This boat came with Load Rite trailer which is galvanized and has rollers instead of the typical bunks. Also, there is no transom guard (prop cage). I am in need of a trailer so if anyone knows where one is sitting without a boat perched on her, please feel free to give me directions and a price and I'd be on my way! I'm in NC. Again, thank you for the site and count on me being an active member. I have one pic I believe, that I can post, but forgive me for the poor quality as I took it with my phone. Talk to you soon. Tom
