My 91 AMskier
« on: September 22, 2010, 08:00:31 PM »
Hey everyone.  I just thought I would add some pics of what I have done since I got my 91 AMskier last summer.  I know it is not the “stock” styling, but I was happy with it.  What do you guys think?

WOW!  Nice boat...probably one of the nicest AM's I've seen!  You must have a really expensive camera.  Nice pics!

Those are nice pics, both the boat and the quality. You should post those up in the gallery if you don't mind. Nice boat!

Most of the pics (the good ones) where taken by lyman_ade. He does photography on the side if anyone is interested.

Wow!  Very nice paint job...  The AM Skier & Skier Girl decals are WAY COOL...   From the seat seat up - flat bench observer seat instead of an L seat, it looks like its an Advance Sport ???

I know what you mean about looking a little different than the stock set up.  My boat's decals were redone by the previous owner - wish he would have wet sanded the hull so the old decal outlines didnt show up-close.  Did an O.K. job overall, but the yellow decals arent STOCK either...  Not sure where he found them or what they came off of (probably had them made), but they are definitely original  :)

Again, nice job!

I think lyman's camera is a 7 D as well. Give Lyman a little credit though. It hurts his feelings when people say the picture was only good because of the camera. :D

Thanks Joel. If it makes you feel any better, you can still see the outline of the old decals up close on my boat too. I think the gel/paint was redone around the lettering or something. Even after the wet sand, the surface of the old letting was slightly lower. I just try not to look to close.

oh, and "Sport Advance?", I really dont know. All I really know is that it is a '91. maybe its a barefoot? I dont know. How do you tell?

I dont think its a barefoot. They came with the 350 Indmar (chevy base block) and yours is the Ford base. Ive been told by Ron and Dan that the only difference between an Advance and a Barefoot were the decals and the motor. If your older decals said American Skier instead of Barefoot thats a dead giveaway as well.

But who cares anyway! She looks damn good if you ask me!

I wanted to ask you also, how do you like your windshield with the slight tent to it? I was thinking about doing this myself, but worry about night time cruising which I will be doing from time to time.

I like the look of it. Thats how it came. As far as night time driving... yeah, its not real good for that, but I tend to look over the windshield most of the time. So it does not bother me. It almost works like a pair of sun glasses on the really bright days though.
