Looking at buying a 2000 Volante

Is there anything I should be aware of? it has a Marine Powered 5.7 Vortec in it.

I have only recently been looking into AS, and having a site like this really calms my nerves about buying a buy that is no longer made, but is it still easy enough to get parts for this boat? Thanks guys!

Nice find only 200 hours and the pics look good too
easy enough to get parts : all drive train parts are currently available
if not from me - certainly from Ron
all tune up parts are standard and available
trans is ZF Hurth - same used in several other ski boats still today
you might want to hurry though....... there are a few members
on hunt within striking distance

Buyer beware!!!

I ALMOST bought this boat last year.  Ask for pics, and lots of them.  I may still have them if you're interested.  There is major upholstery damage from a ravage raccoon.  Not kidding.  Also, there is severe corrosion on the engine, under water gear, and ski pylon for being in highly acidic water.  And the trailer needs some repair.  I tried to negotiate with the guy to get him down to $10K and he wouldn't budge. 

This boat looks great from the pics, but it ends up with some surprises when you look under the hood.  I was hard pressed to get a Volante myself and wanted this to work, but after assessing the issues, I figured it wasn't worth the risk for the price.  The owner claims that he bought it in that condition and there is nothing wrong with the boat.  The seats I could have dealt with, but the corrosion was really bad from what I could tell.  He even had to acid wash the bottom of the boat to get the crud off.

Smitty, Thank you so much for you insight. That is a real bummer. I am a boat salesmen, and definitely thought this was a good deal and am glad I did not drive 4 hours to find this out myself. He sent many more pictures, and did not include the port side tears, or the pictures of hull and drive like that.
