Hey everyone.  I feel like I've fallen off the face of the earth the past year or so, but life has finally settled down a bit where I can refocus and try to get the '97 Volante out on the water soon.

Going through my spring-izing routine, replaced the raw water impeller, but noticed an occasional drip coming from the engine circulation pump which I'm now trying to source before I pull off the old one.

My local independent parts source gave me a blank look when I told him the engine marinizer was Marine Power.  I imagine an Indmar or Crusader branded pump will match up just fine as long as t's for a 5.7L GM block of the same era, but it would be nice to maintain that Blue Thunder color theme under the hood.

Dan, I pulled the pump out this afternoon and the casting number is GM 10108455 - if you have one I'll call your shop Monday and order it up.

Smitty, thanks for the links - I'm after the engine mounted circ pump, not the raw water pump.  Looks like that place is out of stock on the circ pump anyway.  I almost bought the impeller from that place since it's the only one they list under Marine Power but turns out mine is a F5B-9 which is a very different impeller so I sourced it locally.

Its always best to go to Ron or Dan FIRST...  If they have the part in stock, or can get it, the prices are always good and I like to help keep them in business     If they cant get it then they will point you in the right direction if not out & out tell you who to call to get it...  Just great guys to deal with

To close the loop on this one, Dan was gracious enough to get this ordered up for me; it was delivered and installed this past Monday and no leaks!

However, just as I was shutting her down after running her up to temp, the fuel light came on and the fuel gauge is pegged all the way at 'full.'  Guess I now have a sending unit issue to track down.

Hey Don,
If your gauge is pegged to full, the sender signal lead is grounded. Go to the tank and disconnect the sender signal lead and if the gauge goes back to empty, you'll know the wiring back to the gauge and the gauge itself are good. Time for new sender then.
If disconnecting the signal lead doesn't drop the gauge to empty, the wiring or gauge are bad. Go disconnect the signal lead at the gauge then to determine if it's the wiring or the gauge.

My guess would be the sender. Not that uncommon.

Thanks Eddie, I'll give that a shot.  I also thought the sender might be acting up from just sitting still during the long off-season - I'll drag her around the block to slosh the fuel around and see if that changes anything before I dig in too deep.
