I had my tank out last winter  to repair a crack and noticed my blower line and natural vents were not even connected to the rear exhaust port. The hoses were shot. I replaced them with  2 1/2" industrial grade flex lines (one good thing about Tn. is mining supply stores)  I had to use fitting to make the elbow behind the tank and fabricate a connector to the exhaust port. The way I understand it is that the blower is only needed when starting and at idle speed.  When your up and running the natural vent should carry enough air to vent the bilge and motor area ( if the front vent lines are still intact) I think my front lines will need replacing  this winter their starting to get a little brittle. I also need to change over to an auto blower switch because my kids cant ever remember to turn the blower on. any tips?

I dont know anything about an auto vent switch. Id like to hear about that too. I have heard of them being used with the engine compartment temp. being the on off variable I think....... never heard of anything else though. That might just work, cause if your sitting still the temp will for sure go up in the motor box.

Thats why I went with hard pipe, so if the stupid hoses ever go bad I dont have to pull the tank to get to the vent behind the gas tank.

Flexible hose is used in this and many applications like it because it can be distorted, or made oval without changing volume unless it is crushed completely.
