Is anybody taking the lead on this get together / reunion???   If so, we need get it together pretty soon or any resort / park worth a damn will be booked...  Spring / Summer is not that far off...

If no one is taking the lead, can we get a volunteer???  Preferably someone local... who knows the area...  maybe knows the Resort/Marina folks...  has been there before...  HINT... HINT...   ;)

Anyone...?  Anyone...?  Bueller...?  Brueller...???    ;D

haha, I'm guessing that hint is directed towards me! I wish I could take the lead on this, but I'm on standby to deploy from now until April, would hate to have to drop the whole thing due to an unexpected trip. I think the best thing to do is each price out a cabin large enough for your families from the marina I had listed previously, we just need to settle on a date.

We could see if the resort can get us consolidated into neighboring cabins, but then again it's not a very large resort (the majority of the place is RV hookups) and all the cabins generally surround the pool and common area.

Let's settle on dates and see what kind of availability the resort has, sound good?

Uhhhmmmm... Yeah, that was aimed in your GENERAL DIRECTION   ;D   Sucks being on recall - hard to make concrete plans   :(

How about we look seriously at July (everybody's kids will be out of school by then).   Keehr22 pick three or four days (example: 10th - 13th) that work for you & check on availability & prices of at least five cabins.  If the cabins are available and we all agree on the dates we can make individual reservations.   So far I think we've got four or five committed / confirmed.  We'll need to do this quickly - I'll bet they book up fast!

If you get recalled in the meantime, the rest of us will just have to take pics to send to whatever sandpit they send ya to...  You'll be there in spirit & we'll be sure to hoist a couple cold adult beverages in your honor  :)

Does that sound like a plan???

Sounds excellent! The 10th-13th is a weekend in June, I think June was discussed before. I'll give Buchanan's a call this week and let you all know whats available.

Now I just have to get on the skier, need a new engine installed between now and lake season!

I threw out the 10th - 13th only as an example, but the wife tells me the kids are out of school on June 8th so that weekend works for me!!!!   How about you other guys???

Thanks for looking into the availability / costs for us...  I hope some other guys can make it up/down/over as we should have a blast!  The weather & water in TN will be perfect in mid-June - not tooooo HOT like it will be in late July / August / Sept.

Just so everyone knows, which lake & resort area in TN are we talking about???  I lost that info about 1000 threads ago...    ::)

Yep, by July that water will be in the 90's! The resort is called Buchanan's:

Nice marina and shop, fuel, camp store, and great little restaurant on the resort. Also, a floating bar across the cove that has live music Fridays and Saturdays.

What a deal, are you kidding me!? $210.00 a night for waterfront.......

I would be with one other person. If there is another 2 that would share that would make it $52 per person per night. You cant get a best western for that

I'M IN!!!   I'll be coming down with the family and making a mini-summer vacation out of it...  There are a number of accomodations choices from the Motel ($89 for 4 adults) to the Waterfront Cabins, etc...  We'll probably opt for one in the mid-price range.

How many owners / boats are seriously thinking of coming...?  If we get 10 participants or more to COMMIT, then it should be a really good time!!!  I live in Columbus, OH, and dont want to drive 600 miles just to be at the dock in TN with no other AM Skiers...  I think this is a good idea, not cost prohibitive, in the middle of most of us and can easily be put together quickly without too much effort.  We can leave the dinners, boat outings, who's skiing where & other plans for later...

Lets get this FIRST AM SKIER "reunion" kicked off with some real participation!!!  Later reunions can grow from here...

SO...  WHO's COMING!?!?   The dates are JUNE 10th, 11th & 12th, Fri / Sat / Sun!!!!  COME ON!!!  LETS SKI ON KENTUCKY LAKE!!!!    ;D

You can count us in...would NEVER want to have to admit to missing the first American Skier Reunion.

...I see that the resort/lodges do not allow pets.  We've got a Whippet that refuses to be left behind.  Anyone know of any pet-friendly, local accommodations?
