A-S Reunion sites
« on: July 29, 2010, 07:12:54 AM »
Looks like we are cluttering up Myagers Carrera page with this stuff, so here is a more appropriate page. It would be neat to have a reunion of sorts with a target date of summer 2011 or 2012 to give guys time to rebuild as needed. Here are some thoughts to consider.
Site: Clean, clear lake or river w/ hotel on water with docks
Check where others have done this, MasterCraft, Correct Craft etc.
Central location or a North location one year South location next year

There might be some merit to a north one year, south the next.  Let's see what we get. I'll do some research tonight on other groups' reunions.

Hey, Im up for whatever. I just hope I have the boat all up and running (in the water) in time. Next year better give me enough time  :o or I might need to think about selling this thing  ;D

I live in Florida, plenty of lakes here....... but if I had to vote, I would vote for Lake Martin in Alex City Alabama. Beautiful water HUGE lake, part of the Tallapoosa River. There are also some wonderful lakes in the Carolinas.

Do we have many West coast people?  Monroe Lake in Indiana looks pretty promising.

Just a suggestion but Lake Norman, NC (just North of Charlotte) is fairly centrally located (N & S),  and has plenty of lodging, restaurants, marinas, gas and entertainment on the lake.  It's a huge lake but has many, many inlets and coves ideal for skiing and tie-ups.  Attached is a photo of the "Woo" on :) Lake Norman earlier this month...what a great morning that was. :)

Central location maybe?  Missouri has some amazing water.  What ever is decided I will try to make it if its not to far away with the old 83 skier!

I live in Columbus, OH.  What a DRAG for skiing and anything else for that matter besides BUCKEYE football...  Any place in KY, TN, PA or IN would be good.  In KY & TN you can go later in the season (Early to Mid Sept) when the weather is still great and the rates are lower (if were looking at hotels / house boat rentals).  And, the lakes are practically empty (of people) after Sept 1st with lots of lakes to choose from...

Norris lake in east Tn is a beautiful lake ,lots of coves and inlets. also houseboat rentals and vacation rentals (houses), hotels in almost every town around the lake. Its a large lake with 889 miles of shoreline mostly TVA land. after labor day its not crowded at all, water temp right now is about 88deg. I ski into mid  nov. (wetsuit). but the water stays nice and warm all the way into late sept.  The guys from up north could probably handle the temps without a suit into late oct. check out norris lake.com or norris lake on facebook. Located just off I 75 about 25 miles south of the ky. border

Ha we don't always wear suits in October in PA.   OK is it too late to do something this year?
