Boat Graphics
« on: February 12, 2012, 09:50:20 AM »
The previous owner cleaned the hull and replaced the graphics / stencils (which are not AM Skier correct, but look great) and they match the interior (WV / Michigan colors).   Unfortunately, he DIDNT wet sand the hull so you can see the old graphic's outlines in the gelcoat...  damn.    Sooooo, I want to wet sand & polish the hull but will need to replace the side & rear graphics / pin stripes, etc.  I dont want to do this if these arent available since my graphics still look very good.

I know Ron has the Skier Girl - very cool - which isnt period correct for my Advance, but I'd put her on anyway cause its SO COOL and old school.  Did anyone ever find a source for the side hull & stern graphics?

Thanks,

Joel

Long story short Joel...... I am having everything made that came on my boat. The Advance shield and wording. The transom wording. The Barefoot Skier and "Feet" which wouldnt apply to you, and the American Skier Bubble graphic because it is on my transom.

The person doing this work for me is a personal friend of my fathers. They both work for the same company. Not only will I get my graphics but I will also get the disk with all of the artwork on it.

I dont know the exact in's and out's on this whole graphics deal in a nutshell, but when I talked to Ron it appeared that he still "owned the rights to" (I guess is how you word it) the graphics and as long as you are making them for use for yourself it was ok but to reproduce them and sell them its not.......

When I have them in and on I will show you what I have. Thats the most I can say about it. I will be glad to share if possible and I would not ask for a penny for the process. The only $ that would exchange hands would be if you wanted my graphics guy to make the decals and that would be between you and him. If there is some way I can copy the graphics electronically and get them to you I would do that as well for cost if there is any. I am however a computer idiot and may need some help either doing that or to pay someone who knows how to copy it to get it to you.

First thing would be first though. If I have what you are looking for and when they get here if you like them or not.

I appreciate that Mike   ;D    Too bad I dont have a "Barefoot Skier" or I'd be all over it  :(

I need the large "American Skier" for p/s hull sides and the smaller version "American Skier" along with the "Comp Ski Boat... etc" for the transom.   And, matching pin stripes are always a nice touch   8)

Ron may still have the decals for the transom & the "AWSA Approved" decals   8)  Its the large side hull decals that would be the hardest to replace.  I understand they are like hen's teeth...  non-existant   :'(   If anyone has a lead on these please give me a heads up!   She'll look naked without 'em and I dont want to do a half-@$$ job trying (probably unsuccessfully) to sand around them...

Not to beat a dead horse here, but the American Skier bubble style graphics I am having done for my transom will be in a format that can be inlarged or reduced to any size needed.

Since the "Skier" portion of my Barefoot Skier is the same as the American Skier bubble graphic I dont see why the "American" cant just be sized to the same proportions.

In fact I know they can. Im just saying. Up to you.
