Very high pitched noise!
« on: May 18, 2011, 06:21:42 PM »
my 1984 18' skier has been running great with one exception there has been a high pitched noise that has been eluding me untill last night while skiing.  It is the seal below the carburetor.  I want to replace it does anyone have any idea exactly what I need to purchase to fix it.  It is a ford motor marinized by comander with a Holley carburetor.

Are there any pitfalls that i need to know about before making this repair? Let me know ya'lls thoughts.

Thank you!

I would bet that if you get the model of Holley carb, they probably make a carb repair kit at holley.com that you can buy.  As for the pitfalls, I wouldnt think that there would be too many. Never had mine off but have removed other carbs before without any issues.  Main one might actually getting it off the top of the motor if its never been removed before it could be stuck on there pretty good.

Thanks! Got the carb off and took the gasket out it was in terrible shape.  I took it to the auto parts store, matched it up purchased 2 and will try and put the thing back together maƱana.  I am pretty pumped and hope that it solves the problamo!
