My Project Boat
« on: September 09, 2015, 12:14:17 PM »
Hey folks,
I'm a little slow a posting my info on the board. I have been tinkering on 87 Advance for the last few years. When I got the boat it had been both abused and neglected. My vision is to bring the boat back to life so I can use it at our local slalom/barefoot site. I'm not trying to restore the boat. I just want it functional and reliable. Several years ago I traded up from my 88 ProStar to a family sized Malibu. Although I love the Bu and all the great times we have with her on the water. It's not a pure ski boat.. you know what I mean ;)  So now I have the A/S as a second boat and even though its had to find the extra time and $$ for this project; I'm enjoying the adventure. Thanks to everyone, especially Ron, who have posted great tips and advice on the maintenance pages. I go there regularly to learn from the accumulated wisdom of the group.

Welcome and post some pics on the progress. We always like to see the before and after of such an accomplishment.

We won't fault you for coming over from the dark side either. For some its a learning curve. LOL. Either of your previous boats are certainly worthy but I'm pretty sure that you'll find the A/S to be a pretty impressive boat if you're looking for function. Especially considering its age. But then I'm a bit biased.

When people run down to the lake to see what is making that noise, you've succeeded.
