I recently had some problems with my starter and tried to rebuild it but eventually decided to just buy a new one for my 1986 advance with the PCM chevy 350. I did this while finishing up a complete rebuild of the floor, carpet, foam, etc. I put the new starter on and it turned the motor over great. I did have the gas tank out while I was doing the floors but put it back in and installed a stereo. Now when I turn the key nothing happens. No clicks..nothing. I'm not real familiar with the wiring of this boat other than what I can see from under the dash etc. Is it possible that I shorted something out when I was installing the stereo? I did take all the connections off the battery for the stereo and tried it again and that didn't seem to work. Nothing has changed other than I put the gas tank back in and the connected wires to the battery for the stereo. The battery is fully charged and has the same power reading at the battery and at the starter. I must have blown a fuse but I'm not sure where to check. the only fuse I see is right behind the ignition and it is fine.
In case I've never said it before, I really appreciate everyone's help on this forum! I've learned a lot and hopefully one day will be able to help someone else having problems.
