Ok guys. I am almost one week post-surgery and have not had any of the sciatic symptoms from previously. They took out part of the L5/S1 disc, a bit of the L5 vertebrae, and some fragments that were hanging about. I came out of anesthesia quite well and very quickly, felt great, but then the nausea set in. It sucked and it took them almost 2 hours to go through the bureaucratic hospital BS to get me Zofran, then it ended up only working for 1/2 hour.
Anyway, I am walking around a bit, if fact went down to the lake the other day and spotted an Advance at the ramp from two blocks down. As it turned out, I had met the new young owner previously at the lake in someone else's boat. He's quite happy. I invited him to check out the site. Look for a guy named Adam.
So, I think it's best that my season is done. Even if I'm released in October and it's still nice, I plan on winterizing the boat and looking forward to a fresh season. I got to ski 3 or 4 times at home and got some sets in at Swiss Ski school in February so it wasn't a complete loss.
