Family skiing done for the summer :(
« on: August 17, 2011, 11:13:33 AM »
My daughter Delaney fell at the local pool and hit her jaw - fractured it in a few places, broke a molar and has a mild concusssion...  She's resting comfortably with some low grade pain killers and has a Dr's appt tomorrow.  Needless to say, she wont be boating or skiing anytime soon and I feel bad even thinking of going without her...   :(  We just got her up slalom & skiing outside the wake )

Of course she's 15 and her biggest concern is school pictures are Monday a.m. and she cant play her trumpet in the marching band until her jaw heals - other than that she's gonna be O.K.    ;D   I tell her she is blessed because it could have been MUCH worse, which she knows, but it doesnt help the throbbing jaw much...

Guess I get to start on some of my Fall projects a little early this year  :)   Now, how do I adjust the engine height again....????   ;)

15?  Teach her how to drive so Dad can ski.

Sorry to hear about that Joel. Hope the young lady is feeling better very soon. Do yourself a favor and put some pb blaster on those threads now and soak them if you plan on moving them anytime soon  ;)

Thanks guys for all the well-wishes...  As for her boating... think about it...  fractured jaw + bouncing/jarring boat ride = not fun.  I have been teaching her to drive, but unfortunately she's gonna be off the boat for a while   :(

I'll soak the engine mounts with PB blaster for a WEEK before I touch anything...   :)  I'll probably need to order some parts before hand anyway like a new shaftlog rubber hose, rudder post "O" rings, etc...   :)

First hand experience talking here...... try to find cast in number on rudder base, there are a few types out there. For ordering correct parts I mean.

The plastic surgeon decided not to do ANYTHING... apparently, the one fracture and the complete break are very clean and dont need to be set (which means she doesnt have to have her mouth wired shut).   He's gonna see her again on Tues.  She'll still have another visit or two with a Dentist after the jaw heals... complete bummer all around.

I'll let her know you guys are concerned and hoping for a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear that Delaney hurt herself but glad that she is recovering nicely and not in pain.
