Hi Ron,

Thanks for the information, much appreciated.  I came across this fender that is the size of my existing fender with a fender pad. I think this will work as a replacement but need to call the company to find out what that fender pad is made of first.

Empty older Advances weigh 2150-2200#. Single axle non brake A/S OEM trailers weighed 800# Add anything into the boat, and flotation foam that may be wet you can easily go over 3K. Brakes can be added to that trailer. And tires can be upgraded

fender boards were made from 1/2" pressure treated plywood, you will need to re-create your own, each one was originally made to fit. The slant back steel fenders we have.
OEM carb was a Holley 600cfm 4 bbl. Marine carb., National carbureator in Jacksonville Fl. is a good source for rebuilding or buying new. We used Indmar Fords (std) & optional Chevys, the Fords were all "Windsor" blocks.

Hello,

New to the forum.  I have a 1988 American skier competition ski boat that I'm working on to get it back in the water.  Does anyone know where I can obtain a fender well that comes with the inside carpeted running board.  One of my fender wells is damaged and needs to be replaced.  Also, I need to replace my carburetor (four barrel) but unsure of which type/model to purchase.  The motor is a 8 cylinder Indmar, serial number IF-882199.  I also need to know if its is either a Windsor or Cleveland.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated,
Regards,
Kenny , Texas

Inboard Ski Boats For Sale / American Skier Advance

I have an 1987 American Skier Advance that I am looking to get rid of ASAP.

Several years ago I had the boat at my uncle's farm and did a full removal of the wood and carpet.  I removed the foam and poured new foam throughout and put new wood throughout.  Early the next spring I got the boat started and didn't think it would get cold enough to freeze.  I was wrong and the engine block cracked.

The boat has sat in my uncle's farm for a couple of years.  He has since passed away and it's time for me to part with this boat.  This community was really helpful when I first got the boat and I think it's pretty cool that you all are passionate about these boats.  I'm open to any and all offers.

I'm located in Indianapolis Indiana.  Feel free to call or text.  I don't have a lot of pictures right now but I will try to get some up.  Th

Can anyone tell me what my advance, sitting on the original trailer should weigh? Might be taking a trip this summer that will involve driving thru some stateS that insist on trailer brakes for any rig over 3,000 lbs. I’m guessing I will be over ? Thanks.

Marine engines generally like a little heavier oil but it depends on how close the tolerances were built into it. If you know how much oil pressure you were previously running when cold and warm at idle and at speed you have a good base. I would say you should be safe with 10-30 or a good quality 10-40. Watch the oil pressure and adjust accordingly.
