Title: American Skier with Outboard
Post by: mtbinscotland on December 30, 2010, 06:43:24 PM
I have just joined this group and am looking forward to learning and sharing lots from Scotland.  I have a question for all...have you seen an AS with outboard engine before and if so, what is the model type?

There was a short time when American Skier was owned by WESMAR that a few outboards were built, these would have been around 1991 and the boats were built from the aquired molds from the Bonita Boat Co. of Orlando Fl. I would guess that fewer than 25 outboards were ever produced with the American SKier name.

thanks Ron.  On a slightly different note, there is a new member to our club here in scotland who moored his AS volante (i think) last weekend.  I posted a note in the club to meet him and share a beer or two on the AS reunion weekend on our Loch. We'll post some photos of the boats in action on Lochearn following as you may like to know how well (and far) they have travelled...
cheers
