Title: Carpet replacement
Post by: jono10 on July 24, 2015, 06:12:29 AM
Hi all.  Just wondering if I could get peoples thoughts on replacing the original carpet in my 88 Advance.  It appears to have been installed before the top part of the boat ???which joins the observers seat and dash. What is the general rule of thumb(if there is one) for this situation?
Any thoughts or pics would be appreciated.
Regards Jono.

I have done it both ways actually. Its obviously easier with the top off of the boat but can be done with the observation seat cut out and replaced.

From the factory I believe they used quarter inch aluminum bar from behind the fiberglass to bolt the two pieced back together.

Ron has discussed this in other post, I believe 1 was recent.
I thought the seat is part of the deck, if it has a metal strap I think someone has cut it out.

It is part of the deck in most cases. What Im saying is, if needed you can cut the seat out and fasten it back. Ron has said the factory did it this way quite often when something didn't fit just right.
