I posted these pics on the facebook page but thought I'd add them here as well. I needed a new platform since my original 81 was rotted and beyond repair. I called Ron T and he mentioned how most places that custom fabricate these do them flat sawn, rather than quartersawn like the original is. Being a woodworker myself I decided to re-create my original platform quartersawn, with marine teak. It was a fun project. I've got enough teak left over to do another for an 18' skier if anyone is interested let me know.

Really really nice job. Looks factory!

Matt,
That is SWEET! Very nice job! I wish I had the time and space to create one for my 92 Legend. It came with a fiberglass one that the original owner trashed and put a mahogany one on. But the teak is the way to go...

Looks great, Matt, I'm needing to replace mine on a 93 Skier, I could use your extra wood, what would you like for it and do you think it would it be worth shipping it to Tampa Fl?
Thanks Tim

Hi Tim,
I'm in Tallahassee, so not that far. Shipping wouldn't be terrible, it can ship UPS. Right now it is in one large piece (2" thick X 66.5" long) plus various other smaller pieces, some aren't suitable for a platform as they are leftover strips and thin pieces from what I ripped down when building my platform. The large piece is enough to do another for an 18' Skier but I don't know about the Advance or anything larger than 18'. They may be wider than the original 18' Skier. Attached is a pic of what I have. It cost me $600 and I used half of it. So I'd be looking for about $300 plus shipping. As a guess I'd say probably $80 range to ship, but I could find out from FedEx if you send me your zip. It is very nice marine teak that I got from Florida Teak in West Palm. Here's a pic of what I have.
