Hello I have a 1982 skier and I bent the prop and the shaft this weekend. I am having trouble finding a new one and getting the flange off of the end of the old shaft. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

The shaft should be Part# ASU-0055. The older shafts were not tapered on the coupling end, although the replacement shafts are. Stubborn couplings are caused by galled keyways typically from running out of alignment for years. In my shop it is quicker to get the sawzall out and cut the shaft than have a customer pay me hours to press it out in the boat if I know its being changed anyway.

I just wrote a coupling removal guide in the Tech. section, that may help.

Thanks Ron for the timely response if this shaft cannot be straightened I will be contacting you for a new one. It is great to see there are parts available for these boats.
