Folks,
I just want everyone to know that Ron also had a big part in helping me to bring this site back. You will probably start to see some slight changes on the pages. This is because Ron has cart blanche to do whatever he thinks will make the site better and stronger. Without him, might still be down.

Hi all, I'm fairly new to the forum and just recently acquired a '86 Advance. This might be a great chance for Ron to organize some of his DIY information on the site for working on the boats. There's already a great wealth of knowledge on here from him and others, but having an easy go to guide would be awesome for some of the work these 30+ yr old boats require. I know from the parts site, he's been intending to do something of the sort.

Have you not seen the Technical Discussions posted by Ron? A lot of what you're asking has been done for the most part or I don't understand your request.
If you spend some time looking through the Technical Discussions or the Maintenance sections I think you'll find pretty much everything you're looking for. It might not be organized by educated standards but it's all there.
If you truly have an appreciation for these boats, do some reading and you'll find a wealth of knowledge.

By the way, welcome. I forgot my manners. Post some pics. I have an affection especially for a '86.

Apologies, was more or less "reading the book by its cover" and didn't really give myself a chance to look into the site more. Just got the boat this week and I'm just skimming the surface on the restoration at this point (budget, BOM, etc). I had some time yesterday actually to dig around the forums as well as the parts and rontanis.com site and found much more than I could ask for already out there for help. I'm really looking forward to getting this boat fixed up so It can run another 30 years!

Nice looking boat. What are your plans? Is the floor solid or do you need to replace that? What engine is in it?
Too many questions and not enough answers.
