nice find, seeing as tiny it is and the quantity the seller has of this one and many other brands also the same size, my guess is possibly the insert on the glove box lid

Those are old glove box lid emblems, most of the glove boxes have broken at the hinges by now and have been replaced with generic boxes which are black. The old ones were black for the gray boats & tan for the cream colored boats, the emblems are for the tan boxes.

I still have mine (black) off my original broken glove box.
