'97 Volante. Boat has an all-in-one VDO quad style gauge (temp, oil pressure, voltage, fuel). The fuel gauge portion seems to be dying (will work for a couple seconds if I tap the gauge glass, then back to a completely empty reading and the fuel light comes on).
I've reseated the pink wires on the back of the gauge and also tested the 2 pink wires while they were disconnected to make sure the sender signal is consistent (it is). Any idea who might repair this type of gauge since just 1 of the four seems to be having an issue?
The only replacement gauge I'm finding on the VDO site indicates it needs VDO sensors which I don't know if my boat has currently and would be more work than necessary for this fix.

did you test the sender? considering your boat is 15+ years old now
take the pink wire off the sender and touch to ground ( ignition ON )
if the gauge pegs FULL - the gauge is fine and the sender is shot
open it will read below empty

Hi Dan,
No I didn't try pulling the wires on the sender itself since the OHM meter seemed to show a consistent reading when the wires were off the gauge. I'll go that route next - I appreciate the insight.
