Title: 84 AS 351 commander score !!

Hey guys first time posting on here,
iv been looking for a cheap boat for the last couple of months and one of my old slalom buddies calls me up and says he knows where i can get a free 84 american skier I'm only 19 so she was right in my price range. i scooped it up yesterday and pulled her home,
the guy i got it from said it had been sitting for two years, but ran fine prior.
she was completely filled with rotten leaves so i
tore out the carpet and spent forever pressure washing everything.
pulled the tank and got a new starter, carb, plugs and a battery, motor turns over with the key still !!


so what i really need now is parts to she if it will start.  do you guys get your parts from any where in particular ?
i know i need a new impeller, distributor cap, and fuel filter.

Prestolite marine distributor with screw down style cap.

Look on the main page, there is a link to the right to Ron Tanis's web site. He has the parts you need......... if he doesn't he is the person who knows what they are and where to get them.

Between Ron & Dan (Ron's brother) you can get whatever you need. They have both treated me like family. I've bought stuff from both of them and they are great. These old boats are awesome, hope you enjoy it!

You're 19, so I assume you wakeboard...don't be scared to throw a tower on her, they make great little wakeboard boats. A few friends, or about 500lbs of ballast and it makes a nice clean wake at 20mph.  Tower, stereo, Perfect Pass...enjoy.

got all my parts in today, already have the water pump good to go. just need a battery and to hook up the new distributor cap and ill left you guys know if she fires up  8)
yeah I plan on throwing a tower on there for trick and wake boarding

daximus is that a monster tower you have on yours ?
looks clean !

The tower is from  Big Air out of Oklahoma. Its one of thier smallest an less expensive models. Those guys/gals are great. I stripped out a couple bolts during installation (my fault) and they shipped me new ones the next day. I tried to pay them, they refused my money...wouldnt even let me cover shipping.

FYI, Kicker, also out of OK are just as cool like that.

so i had my wisdom teeth pulled so its been rough week , not being able to drink a cold beer while working in the sun really sucks ha.
 but all i need to do is the distributor  and re install the fuel tank.

i need to figure out the firing order as i marked the spark plug cables  with sharpie but can't make them out now since they have been in the sun  ???

Firing order for A/S std. rotation engines:
FORD  1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
Chevy 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Well sorry for the wait
after running into some small problems the motor idles and runs great!!
i broke the plastic piece inside my distributor that guides the weights when then spread out. it broke because the distributor was frozen up.  i decided not to spend 300$ on a new one so i pulled it and rebuilt it. after a ton of p.b blaster and 4 hours later everything was working really smooth.

i ended up making the plastic track piece out of a piece of metal, turned out really well.

il post some pics tomorrow, going to drop her in the water tomorrow see how cruises.

runs great in gear !!
i still need a bolt for the water pump,
i have a bolt on the bottom mount and top. In the middle of the pump is where i need a long bolt that goes directly into the block and spaces the water pump to where the belt is straight.
other than that the motor is solid  8)
