Title: Diffrent props

Hello All!

    I'm a proud owner of a 83 AM Skier that we use alot for tubing and wakboarding. First of all I would like to say I love this sight due to this is my first boat and this is a great place to learn from. Anyways my question is what would be the best prop for wakboarding with this boat? I'm not worried about top speed as much as I am about torq and pulling power. The one I have now is a 3 blade that's stamped 12 15L. I don't know what that means. Assuming pitch. Thank you folks for your time and knowledge.

The original prop was a 13 x 13 unless it was a 3 event promo boat, then it was a 13 x 12 (first # is diameter, second # pitch)
You need to determine your actual full throttle RPM then go from there in selection, first guess is a 13 x 12 sand cast type 3 blade, if your buying a cnc machined prop it may be a 13 x 11

Cool thanks Ron. My tach isn't accurate. (another project). But I'll get it figured out. That 13x12 is what you would recommend for pulling a 250 lbs wakeboarder or should I look tords the 4 blades?

save the cash, 3 blades are fine, and 1 less to fix if you wreck it

I do have a almost new CNC prop on the shelf - I mounted it to test only

The first number is the prop diameter, the second one is the pitch. the L means it's a left hand rotation.
That prop is an inch smaller than it was designed for from the factory like Ron stated. Dan is also correct. I would stick witha 13x12 for how you're using it. It'll pull a little harder out of the hole and keep revs more steady at slower wakeboard speeds for you.
I have a factory 13x12 and 13x13 I could sell if you're interested.
