Hey guys,
Just wanted to see if anybody has an opinion on resting my boat of off the trailer on old tires. Someone mentioned it to me at the lake this weekend and it sounded ridiculous to me at first but after I thought about it a while it didnt sound so bad. I am going to try to media blast and powdercoat my trailer this winter. Opinions welcome and suggestions.

Don't know what you have for equipment, but I can tell you I support all the boats in my shop with adj. stands at the rear corners & under the forward keel (3). Hopefully you can do this on a flat concrete drive or garage, but I would lower the tongue all the way down, support the rear corners with jack stands or blocks with a piece of carpet or something soft under the boat. Lift the tongue up with a floor jack or other suitable device but NOT the tongue jack. When way up the back of the boat should now be supported by the aft corner cribbing. Now you need a sky hook, tree limb, joist, something to hold the bow up, using a come-a-long, or chain hoist, then lower the tongue & pull the trailer out & add cribbing under the forward keel to complete a 3 point support. Be carefull & if you drop it I'm right off I-55 near I-12
