Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: Daximus on June 13, 2013, 12:10:24 AM
Well, I just bought this...so maybe I'm in the club?  :)

1986 Advance, 1 owner (pictures to prove it), private lake, 150ish hours on new motor, all paperwork from original sales receipt to new motor provided. I paid 5k...but the boat, trailer, and owner's reputation are flawless...I didn't even care what it was worth to the world, it was worth 5k to me. Hope I didn't get hurt!

Thanks fellas!

I haven't taken possession of the boat yet, but as soon as I do I'm sure I'll be full of questions. I know enough about boats to be dangerous, and less about inboards, lol.

Hello everyone,
First time online with you all .thanks for letting me and my baby join( my baby is a 1990 bow rider American skier) think the model starts with an m?
Anyway picked it up in canyon lake ca.  Have had it for two weeks now and haven't got behind it in the water yet. Can't wait. Had to get a prop puller today bought it with a dime size ding in it. Any suggestions before I pull the prop? Any and all would be appreciated.
  Thanks

Got an acme prop puller. Prop came off in about 3 min.
Want to thank whoever posted " leave the main nut on part way while using the puller"
Worked awesome.

Welcome aboard to both of you!!!  Post lots of pics!!  The guys on here are great with lots of experience & willing advice  :)

Do yourself a favor, if you ever need parts contact Ron or Dan Tanis FIRST!  They are on here often - just send them a pm.  Not only will you get the best part for the application, but you'll get expert advice on installation (how NOT to screw it up) and routine maintenance.  These guys are the BEST when it comes to these boats!

Again, welcome to the club!  Maybe next year we'll see you both at the 4th Annual American Skier Reunion!
