Title: Fiberglass Swim platform pad
Post by: footinmichigan on May 09, 2013, 04:50:05 AM
I have an 82 American Skier that has a fiberglass swim platform.  I just bought the boat and the platform I guess had some sort of pad or anti slip on it in the past, however, it has been removed and sanded down.

Just would like some thoughts as to what I should put back on the platform top.  Their is a foam pad I see on the internet called Sea Deck.  Is their anything else recommended to put on the platform top?

Thanks.

A/S has used a variety of materials over the years on the surface of the fiberglass platform. The early years we used a thin rubber mat with small raised round "pebbles" no longer available. Then we used carpet that matched the interior, then we used "Jelly Bean" mat, a heavier black rubber mat that has a raised oval, oblong shape. This is still available. Most modern ski boats use a softer foam rubber like the sea-dek which is available in a variety of colors & patterns.
