Any advice on make and model of wake board tower to install on a 1988 Advance and any special reinforcing the boat may need?

Tbare welcome aboard and congratulations.
Towers (?) most of the old guys / long time owners on the forum don't seem to have a whole lot of love for towers.......
buy hey you gotta get that rope attached up high some how..........
I can easily recommend the flyhigh extended pylon I use them regularly and never have had a complaint about them
next up is the all stainless Pro X series tower by Fly high too - "it's tube rated" and about $2k yikes
www.fatsac.com (http://www.fatsac.com) to see it
on the budget end is monster tower, the mt1 or mt2 may be worth a look. the mte is the el cheapo model don't bother with this one.
as much as it may pain other members here...... I'd feel more comfortable with tower on an Amskier than most other boats I see them installed on
particularly in this vintage......... but then again I'm really on the fence here, old skiers shouldn't have towers on them but I certainly do understand why they are needed
:) as far as reinforcement is concerned yes it would be wise to make the "backing plates" as large as possible to help distribute the pressure on the deck
and surrounding structure that will reduce some flex and allow the stress to spread out more ..........
order install and enjoy it

I am on the same page as my brother on this one, don't want one on my boat, but I'll install one on yours. In addition to backing plates the ADVANCE is prone to hull/deck loose screws mid-ship due primarily to the flexing under rough conditions or simply wake crossing. I would replace every other hull /deck screw before and after the tower mount area with #10 ss machine screws w/ flat washers & nylok nuts and reseal. (requires removing the rubrail base)

Thanks for the replies and information. Having a hard time pulling the trigger! Such a sharp boat just the way it sits. Maybe the fly high is a better option.
