I just picked up a 1977! From what I can see, it's not in its original state, so I could use some help. My goal is to get it as close to original as possible, so I was wondering if anyone out there would be willing to send me some interior and exterior photos, as well as a good place to find complete specifications/options etc.?
Thank you for your help!

Awesome! Welcome and thanks for joining in on the American Skier talk. Also, curious how people are finding us?
I believe that the late 70's and early 80's American Skiers are much the same. For starters, you can take a look through our Photo Gallery (click on "Media" on the top of the forum menu) which has a few photos of late 70's early 80's and I also think the specs are in there somewhere too.

These are a few specs for a 1982 American Skier(no considerable changes between 77' and 82') off a magazine article in our photo gallery.
Length: 18 feet
Beam: 84 inches
Weight: 2200lbs
Power Plant: Inboard 351 Ford (240 to 255 hp - debatable...) with an optional Chevy 350.
Draft: 20 inches
Fuel: 20 gallons (my 82 actually has a 19 gallon tank)
Seating capacity: 6
Warranty: 1 year full
Base Price: 14,600
oh, and let's see some pics!

1977 models included several "prototype" componets, I would rebuild to 1980 standards. Is this the brown & yellow one that was stuck in the mud in Ill???

welcome to the Club--I have a 1980 AS--Tangerine and Cream which I selfishly and personally think is the best looking of all the AS's--will try to get some pics up for you--they are on my other computer at work though....DOUG

These are of my 1980 American Skier Luxury Skier in Tangerine and Cream. These are all BEFORE pics--boat is currently nearly deconstructed and being reassembled (new floor, fresh motor, etc...) I will reply to this thread again w/couple more of interior and engine compartment.
Again--I would NEVER let a boat deterioratein this condition (filth, grease, oxidization, rotten floor, etc....) but this is the day I brought it home...
Enjoy, DOUG
