looking to get stencils for the sides of my boat. the old school lettering "american skier"
want to paint it on. need a good quilty stencil to do it with. where to get it is the question
-
Good luck with that. There are a couple guys on here getting some made from scratch as there are none to be found anywhere from the factory any more. You're SOL for right now but stay tuned. There could very well be someting coming if the remakes turn out to be good enough for replication.

cool please keep me in mind, cause im doing gel coaton top and bottom and painting on the stripe and letters on with base clear.

I do know that the graphics that are being worked on are not stencils, they are actual graphics. I.E. solid letters not reverses that you could paste on and paint with. Im certain when whatever is being done is finally completed it could be used that way, but that is not the goal or endpoint of making the decals that are being recreated
This is the way the original graphics were done for the years that are being recreated.
When you say "old school" what exactly do you mean? There have been several styles of graphics. I would imagine that you are talking about what most call "bubble script" but am not sure.

I would also imagine that whenever something is completed it will be almost front and center on the forum. There are many folks who are looking to get new graphics. Once its complete I would guess its going to be some what of a big deal to alot of us so I dont think you will have to worry about being left out.

yeah i am talking about the bubble letters, i call them old school or 70s pimp letters...lol
i'm kinda doing a custom retro look. something that looks like the factory look but lots nicer.
and with more detail. like on the racing stripe on my hood will be flames burning halfway up it.
very suttle though not super bright{more of a ghost} for example

I'd stick with Gel Coat at all costs... Painting the hull can be done (Mike Harry did it), but you gotta be REAL careful not to scratch it, etc...
Good luck!!
