Just bought this boat, it seems to be really solid. Everthing is there, a few things have been boogered up. But I plan on getting it back to its glory. The boat is out of Oklahoma city. Nice to see that everyone is really helpful on here. If I need something I will for sure be asking for a little help. I could use a wiring diagram for under the dash? If not I will figure it out since I am a master JD tech. If there is anything anyone needs just ask.

Cool, welcome to the site! Nice to know we have a resident Electrician :) If that's what you mean?

Greetings,
I have an '87 Advance. I have replaced my tach and oil pressure gauge. The tach does not seem to work, but the oil gauge is fine.
Did anyone ever find a wiring diagram?
I did find the diagram for a Commander. Does that accurately represent the wiring for the Advance?
Thanks

Most of the old diagrams are "in-my-head" as WESMAR (owners 1990-95) destroyed these when they closed. The Tach is a simple pulse counter with a gray wire coming from the distributor, a positive & ground & illumination wire (blue) Your boat description includes a Toyota replacement engine?? my guess is that the Toyota uses a different type of sender like a digital signal. I have lost track of Mark McNeil but he was the guy who put the Toyota project together.
