I'd like to install a higher amp alt. When I run the heater the buzzer squeals. I had the alt rebuilt last year. I will up grade the wiring to handle it. What amp does it come with? Can I get a 70 amp alt for it? Bill

OEM alternator was a Motorola 35 AMP.

I bought a 1 wire Delco marine 105 amp alternator from this website for 66.44 with free shipping

I know it is more output than I'll ever need. I had to drill the main bolt hole a hair bigger for our bolt but it bolts up and lines up with no shims. I ran another alternator output wire to my circuit breaker for my radio, heater and shower. No more squealing reminder of low alternator voltage. YEA!!!!

I dont have any reason to upgrade my alternator, but pictures shure would be nice if you get a chance for those who are looking to upgrade and possibly a little description ;D

I upgraded because every time I ran my navigation lights the alarm would sound. Or if I ran the heater above low the alarm would sound. I'll try to get some pics of the install

I'd be interested on more detail on how you did the additional feed off the alt. On my '97 Volante I get what appears to be voltage drop on my gauges when running the heater above medium (worse if I have the running lights or another accessory on) and this triggers warning lights on the dash panel. Thinking the direct feed might be all I'd need without replacing the alternator.

On my 87 Carrera when I up the volume on the stereo the volt meter jumps the the beat of the music.
I am considering replacing to a higher output alt. Will that be the cure?

I will try to get some pics of the install this weekend. But it works perfectly. Only mod was to drill out the main bolt hole for the bigger ford bolt. Pulleys line up perfectly. To handle the additional load I ran two wires I left the stock wire for the stock boat wiring and a second larger wire for my accessories (heater, heater pump, shower, stereo.) I put in a seperate circiut breaker and wiring to run these. The stock wiring would not handle the load. I did not need a 105 amp alternator but that was the best buy. It sure is nice to not have the buzzer going off all the time.
