Title: newer Marine Hardware Rudder O rings
Post by: chrisheile on June 04, 2010, 06:10:46 AM
Looking for O ring set for my '02.  I seem to recall speaking with Ron about the rudder and he said that it was O ring, not packing.

It is a 2002 (right after the Elan takeover).  I am pretty sure Ron told me that it was O ring.  It is leaking some but not badly.  I greased it last spring, not this year.  I'll do that.

Not sure what they were using, they burned their bridges with my former supplier who developed the trim tab rudder & supplied the rudders & ports as a matched set. To save a lot of time & shipping, dissassemble, pick out the old rings, run down to a good auto parts supplier & compare to a new ring & replace them. Good auto parts stores still have o-ring "kits" that they can match up to yours....RonT
