I currently have a 1991 American Skier Legend (love it!!!) and am looking at a 2002 Elan American Skier Pro.
Who owns the Pro and what do they think about it (good and bad)?
Thank you!!

Robster, Talk with Ron & Dan Tanis... Chris Heile owns one (not sure of the year) and I believe he LOVES it :) Better ask him directly - he usually chimes in... ;D

I'm biased I consider the 2001 PRO's with date codes in the 2000 are the best tournament boat ever built, each year after this however saw numerous changes in the build sheet & not for the better. Depending on the date code the earlier the better.

I sent him a note. The only thing I think that was a problem with the 2002 was cheaper fabric in the accent material. I love the boat. I am sure that as years progressed, more problems may be present.
Addendum: What I mean by that is with cost cutting measures in subsequent years, there could be other problems. I think 2002 was pretty safe.

Well, we test drove it and the girlfriend skied behind it Sunday. I must say, it's quite a bit different from our 1991 Legend. I really like the way it handles and she loves the way it skis. I can't believe how much more room there is in it.
We put an offer in on it and I hope to have it here by Friday! Thank you everyone (especially Christopher Heile) for all your help!
