What about taking a high-res digital photograph and then printing it the correct size on UV vinyl with a laminate over it ....any sign shop should be able to do that for about $10--I can take a pic if my 1980 is same sticker......DOUG

OK guys I spent the better part of the morning looking through my records & came up empty, ALL A/S USCG records were kept in a large book that was handed from company owner to owner. This included every HIN assigned, where it was sold to, recall info, and capacity certifications. I knew I didn't have the book, but thought I may have some data that might help but didn't. Our boats were built to NMMA standards through 1995, 1996-2001 were built to the more stringent ABYC standard, boats produced after 2001 were built to the basic USCG standard. The long answer would take several pages to explain, the easy answer is this: If I can get photos of legible capacity stickers (the one by the throttle) I can still order as an "Builder of record" individual replacement stickers from NMMA. (still waiting on the cost for individual stickers)
USCG mandates specific size, color, type size per line for the capacity labels.
What I need to help you is: Legible photo of capacity sticker, picture of boat, picture of HIN number & written HIN number
Only need one of each model, 18', 19'Advance/Lazer, 20' Volante/Barefoot Skier closed bow, 20' Volante open bow ( I HAVE THIS ONE) Eage etc.

State water cops wouldnt know the difference between a Correct Craft, AM SKier and a pontoon boat... much less the year, make & model.  If it LOOKS official you'll be good,,, as long as you dont exceed the total # of persons listed on the sticker.

RonT-If I can get the picture of the sticker from Midskier, or someone...what should my next step be?  I have the HIN number on the title...but do you need a picture of HIN number from the boat.  If you do, where is this located?
thanks
dave

I can answer 1/2 that question....  The HIN should be located on the transom, starboard side, just below the rub rail.  It should be stamped into the gel coat - cant miss it.

The USCG Capacity Label does NOT include a HIN. It simply states the capacities, and that the Mfg. certifies it was built per current USCG stds, and in our case back then the NMMA stds. (it is model specific) All I need is a good pic of someones Advance sticker that is legible & I can have OEM duplicates made. I, on the other hand will require a pic of the boat, and HIN, and engine model & Ser # before I would sell the duplicate sticker. I may or may not have been the manufacturer of record for various years of production but I am the only source law enforcement finds when they are researching a boat, (happens about once per year)
