Main Breaker Question
« on: May 25, 2019, 07:08:37 PM »
I just posted a question about the new carburetor and I was looking at another post about his boat shutting off and even though I have owned this boat for about 20 years i'm not sure where the main breaker is at. Is it under the dash? I know that there are little buttons by each of the 4 switches, Lights, bilge pump, blower, and other light switch. I believe they use to stick out farther, is there fuses in them, and are they spring loaded? Or is the main breaker on the rear of the motor on the drivers side?

Main breaker should be at the rear of the engine at the wiring block.
When people run down to the lake to see what is making that noise, you've succeeded.

Okay thank you.  I thought that is where it was, I ordered a new 50 amp reset button this morning because the one that is in there doesn't push to reset anymore.

Should have been a 40 amp breaker in there, which is already on the high side for #10 wire, if you are using this much power you will want to increase the size of the wire to a #8 from the breaker to the dash panel if a 50 amp breaker is used.
